Teacher discounts at popular U.S. attractions


Over the years, we've received countless inquiries regarding teacher discounts for travel destinations, amusement parks, museums, zoos and other attractions. To help you stretch your vacation budget, we've compiled a list of the most popular education discounts, which you'll find below in alphabetical order. Adventure Science Center, Nashville, TN: Tennessee teachers (pre-K through 12th grade) and homeschool educators receive free admission by showing a valid school/homeschool ID. Information about professional development and other resources for educators can be found here.

Art Institute of Chicago:
Free admission is given to Illinois educators, teaching artists, pre-service teachers, and home school parents. Details here.

Baltimore National Aquarium: Teachers get a free orientation & free curriculum for fieldtrip planning purposes. Free admission is also available for those chaperoning groups of 15 or more. Plus, everybody can visit for 50% off every Friday after 5pm.

Boston Children's Museum: K-8 Teachers from MA, NH, CT, RI, VT, and ME get free admission and access to Learning Resources.

Broadway / New York City: Teachers and students receive deep discounts to hundreds of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, museums and other productions by registering with the School Theatre Ticket Program or by acquiring a membership with the Theater Development Fund.

Busch Gardens: We've negotiated an education discount with Florida Ticket Station for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and other FL attractions! See this page for details and coupon code.

Central Florida Zoo: Teachers and bus drivers get in for free if chaperoning a group of 15 or more.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium: Free admission is available to educators with a valid teacher ID at the admission gate. Details can be found in this PDF information flyer. Also available are free resources, including an educational planner and curriculum.

Colonial Williamsburg: A 50% admission discount is available to educators year-round. Be sure to present a valid teacher ID at the ticketing office. Homeschoolers also receive special pricing.

Crayola Experience: K-12 educators receive free admission at all locations. See details for Orlando, FL, Easton, PA, Mall of America, MN, and Plano, TX. Be sure to bring your school ID or paystub with you on the day of your excursion. Plus, other members of your party receive a $5 discount by purchasing tickets online and using store name

Denver Art Museum:
Educators and students receive discounted membership as well as access to educational resources.

Discovery World, Milwaukee, WI: Teachers and homeschoolers get unlimited free admission, free VIP tours of labs and studios, access to professional development events and much more when they join Discovery World’s Educator Community -- it's free!

Disneyland: Educators who are members of ACSA, CTA, and CRTA get discounted Disneyland tickets through TSA Special Member Services. TSA also provides discounts on other theme parks, aquariums, seasonal events and more.

Disney World: We've negotiated an education discount with Florida Ticket Station for Walt Disney World and other FL attractions! Click here for details and coupon code.

Dollywood: If visiting with a school group of 15 or more, complimentary admission is given to one teacher per group and all bus drivers. Students get free lunch. Special pricing is also available to homeschoolers. Or look for a $5 discount which is usually offered at the Pigeon Forge McDonald's. This coupon is printed on their large cups and is typically good for 4 admissions.

Field Museum, Chicago: Free basic admission is given to Illinois teachers, pre-K through 12. Must present a valid teacher photo ID at the time of ticket purchase. Students with a valid school ID get discounted admission. Plus check here for a list of free admission days which are made available to all Illinois residents with proof of residency.

Florida Aquarium: Florida K-12 teachers get in for free after enrolling into the Teacher Study Program. It's completely free to join, here.

Gatorland: Florida teachers and residents enjoy free admission during select months of the year. Contact Gatorland for details. Non-Florida residents can receive a discount via Florida Ticket Station.

Grand Canyon Railway: Free tickets for teachers, discounts of up to 35% for students, and specially priced rooms and meals are available via the Grand Canyon Railway's Conductor's Club program. See details at the bottom of this page.

Grand Ole Opry, Nashville: Discounted admission to the Grand Ole Opry (and a number of other Nashville attractions) are available to educators who book an overnight stay at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. That's in addition to their special teacher appreciation hotel rates!

Houston Zoo:
Admission is free for organized school groups Monday through Thursday. Student and employee discounts and group rates are available. And anyone can get free admission on the first Tuesday of each month, September through May, from noon until closing. More details here.

Kansas City Zoo: Teachers, administrators and home school educators receive free admission during the Zoo's Teacher Appreciation Day. To inquire about this year's designated Teacher Appreciation Day, contact the education department at 816-595-1765. Additionally, free school field trips are available to 2nd grade, 4th grade, and secondary schools within the Zoological District. See this page for details.

Kennedy Space Center: Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands teachers receive free admission to the Visitor Complex and Educator Resource Center via their Educator Study Pass program. Residents of other states can receive discounts via Florida Ticket Station.

Las Vegas: There are a number of teacher discounts in Vegas. For example, Davidoff Bar offers free champagne and 50% off wine & beer every day from 2-5pm. Caesars Entertainment spans over a dozen hotels brands and provides discounted hotel stays via this online booking form. The Mob Museum offers discounted admission with a valid Teacher ID. Past teacher discounts include Miracle Mile Shops, Le Reve at the Wynn, and other shows & exhibitions. So be sure to present your school ID when making any purchase in Vegas -- it may help you save some money!

Legoland: In Florida, free admission is available to Florida teachers of grades K-12. Residents of other states can receive discounts via Florida Ticket Station. Other Legoland locations offer free admission for teachers during select days / months throughout the year. Here are examples in California and in Texas.

Milwaukee Art Museum: Wisconsin K-12 teachers receive free admission to the museum. Simply present a valid school ID or paystub at the admission desk.

Moody Gardens, Galveston, TX:
Teachers get free admission to all Moody Gardens attractions during designated Educator Open House dates. Family members get discounted rates.

Morey's Piers, NJ: Free teacher admission and discounted rates for their family and friends are offered during their annual Teacher Appreciation Day, which is usually in early June. Pre-registration is required by emailing or calling 609-846-1626. Discounted school group rates are also available and include one free chaperone pass for every 10 students.

Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago: Free admission is given to Illinois teachers, pre-K through 12. Be sure to also check their list of free admission days, which are made available to all Illinois residents with proof of residency.

National Parks: Show a valid school ID at most National Park Service visitor centers across the nation and receive 15% off your purchase. Free curriculum and other tools are also available. Plus, 4th grade teachers and students can receive free access to hundreds of U.S. parks, lands, and waters for an entire year via the Every Kid in a Park program.

Natural History Museum, Los Angeles: California teachers with a valid school ID and qualifying school groups get in for free year-round. All others can enjoy free admission days, typically on the first Tuesday of each month. You may also want to check out these other free museums in the Los Angeles area.

New England Aquarium, Boston: Through their Teacher Pass Program, the Aquarium allows all New England K-12 teachers to receive free Aquarium admission, discounts at the Harbor View Café and Gift Shop, free access to their Teacher Resource Center and much more. Learn more and apply here.

Orlando Science Center: Free admission is available to Florida teachers with a valid teacher ID.

Philadelphia Zoo: Certified preK-12 teachers, principals and assistant principals can take advantage of free admission during most months by registering for the Teacher Pass.

Ripley's Aquariums, SC and TN: North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee teachers receive free admission and discounts for guests during designated days throughout the year. Must present a current school ID or paystub at the ticket window. Contact the aquariums for more information.

San Diego Zoo: Members of ACSA, CTA, and CRTA get discounted zoo tickets through TSA Special Member Services.

Science City, Kansas City: Teachers and home school educators in Missouri and Kansas receive free admission if registered for the Union Station Kansas City Educator Program. Registration is free.

Sea Life Aquariums: Sea Life has five U.S. locations, including the famous Mall of America in Minnesota. Educators receive discounted membership rates and free admission during Teacher Open House events.

SeaWorld: Free teacher admission is available to SeaWorld Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio through the SeaWorld Teacher Fun Card initiative. Must be a resident of FL, CA, AZ or TX (use links above to access appropriate registration info). Non-FL residents can receive discounts for SeaWorld Orlando via Florida Ticket Station. Sesame Place, Langhorne, PA: Teachers of grades K-12 from PA, NY, NJ & DE get a free Teacher Pass valid for unlimited park admission. Groups of 15 or more receive special rates.

Shedd Aquarium, Chicago: Educators from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin receive free admission once registered for a voucher.

Six Flags: Teachers and students of grades K-6 are eligible for free admission via the Six Flags Read to Succeed program.

Skeletons: Animals Unveiled, Orlando: FL teachers get in for free anytime of the year. Just bring a valid teacher ID or appropriate credentials to show you are a teacher.

Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Tampa: Tampa Bay area teachers, staff and homeschool educators receive up to a 50% discount toward ticket purchases for pre-selected shows with a valid school ID at the Straz Center Ticket Sales Office.

Universal Studios, FL and CA: We've negotiated an education discount with Florida Ticket Station for Universal Orlando and other FL attractions. Discounts to Universal Studios Hollywood are available to members of ACSA, CTA, and CRTA via TSA Special Member Services, as well as to faculty and students of these participating colleges.

WonderWorks: Free admission is available to teachers during designated months of the year (usually May). Check their site for Teacher Appreciation information for the WonderWorks near you.
