Welcome to My Education Discount! We think all school
personnel deserve respect and recognition, and this effort is our personal way of expressing our gratitude.
My name is Christina. My husband, Rick, and I started this
website back in 2007. At the time, we both worked with a non-profit
organization offering free materials to schools, but we wanted to do
more for teachers. We discovered a few places that offered education
discounts, but it was difficult to find the information. So we built the My
Education Discount website with the intent that it would act as a
"master directory" of education discounts. Then we
decided to take it a step further; we started contacting businesses
asking them to provide new and better discounts for our subscribers.
My Education Discount is now our full-time passion. We continually
seek out new discounts, try to improve upon existing ones, and look
for other creative ways to help you save money.

Who can get these discounts?
Educators, school personnel, faculty,
staff, and others employed within the education community. So if you are a teacher, principal, professor, homeschooler, media specialist, instructor, guidance counselor, coach,
secretary, nurse, cafeteria worker, custodian, bus driver, etc., you are eligible!
What if I'm retired? You can still get most discounts. You've
really earned them by now. Congratulations!
What about private schools? Absolutely. There are, however, a handful
of discounts not available to non-public school employees. We are doing our
best to convince those businesses that discounts should apply to all
staff from all schools.
How do I get these discounts? Simply go to our
click on the name of the retailer of interest. Then follow the instructions. Make
sure you use the links provided.
You may also be required to enter a special code
during your online purchase process. Some retailers may ask you to verify
your education status by providing your school/work email address.
How do retailers know I'm a teacher?
For online purchases, a special code within the links on our site allows retailers to know
that you are accessing their website through My Education Discount. For
in-store purchases, most retailers will ask to see your school ID.
What makes My Education Discount better than other discount sites? Our
focus is on you. We not only seek out teacher-specific discounts and communicate them to you, we also negotiate with companies. If a
discount is not available, we try to obtain one for you. If a discount is already
available, we work to get you a better one. That's why the more
subscribers we have, the better the discounts we can get. Please
email your colleagues and ask them to sign up!
Why do some
discounts appear to be available to anyone, not just teachers? Most of the discounts
are teacher-specific while a select few are more general. For those 'general' discounts, we are working on getting you a better one. In the
meantime, we've posted the best discount available.

I get an error when I click the links. Why?
If you are trying to access from school, try a home computer to see if that
makes a difference. (Unfortunately, some schools block our site.) Another solution is to
clear your cache. Here's how to do it in Internet Explorer: Go to Tools >
Internet Options > Delete Browsing History. Be sure to delete your Cookies,
Temporary Internet Files, and History. Restart your browser and try again.
If you are still having trouble, contact us.
I am not getting your emails. What can I do? First, make sure
you are signed up to get our Free Email Alerts,
you are certain you are signed up and are still not receiving
our emails, check your Junk/Spam folder. If our emails are not there, your email
provider may be blocking us. Most importantly, you should add
